[rs=2] | Full name: Amadi Dumisani Position: Camper Height: 5' 0" Weight: 100 lbs Personality: Amadi is an arrogant little punk, if we're going to put it politely. He thinks he's about three times as big as he is, and he swaggers like it. He's not a meat-head, exactly, even though he works hard to keep himself at the peak of physical prowess he also works hard to keep his mind sharp and clever. Amadi doesn't bother with tact, that's for lesser people. If he doesn't like you then you are damn well going to know it. He's also passionate, when he cares about something he puts his heart and soul into it. Put-together. Amadi coordinates, and he does it well. Those jeans he's wearing? Designer. Are those shoulder-pads pink? Of course they are, this shade compliments his complexion. Going to make fun of him for it? He doesn't care, he looks awesome and you look like you went through a weed-whacker. He's up to date on the latest fashion, constantly. Keep it up though and you'll probably find his fist in your face. His temper is quick and fiery. Amadi has, obviously, a hard time making friends with his temper and ego. He's unpredictable and kind of rather mean, not the sort of person you want to invite out to grab lunch. Sadistic- Amadi doesn't just kill monsters unless they're too strong. He likes to play with his food and watch it suffer. He'll also play with people on the field, and occasionally he's had to be stopped from severely beating people after they're already down. He keeps himself busy constantly. You'll never see him just lying down watching the clouds go by, he's reading or studying or making notes, usually he practices fighting. Immortal parent: Ares Claimed?: Yes Mortal parent: Gloria Dumisani Other relatives: Gunjuu Dumisani (stepfather, deceased) Isoba Dumisani (brother, alive) History: It started with a mother, and ultimately the entire mess is really his mother's fault. And that's the only reason he wants to find her, to blame her. No other reason. Really. Let's back up a few decades. See, Amadi's mom wasn't just a warrior. She was a mercenary, and a damn good one at that. Oh, wait, I'm sorry, I mean "private contractor". And as such, she'd get "contracted" to go to the worst, most hellish places and do what she does best. Utter annihilation of her enemies. And, even though she was a born and bred Montana girl, most of her clients were from out of the country. They were the ones desperate enough for her prices. Flash forward a tiny bit to where a young Gloria falls for a young warlord in Somalia, they meet, they boink, and she gets pregnant. This son, this first son is Isoba, and soon they're a happy family. But Gloria wasn't an old fashioned kind of girl, she had a career and she had no intentions of giving it up for a family, she was sure that she could balance both. Fast forward twelve years to when, understandably, this kind of battle-lust is attractive to a certain god of war. Gloria does oh-so love her husband, but when a god comes down on her next visit to the states and says he wants her, well that's too big a notch on her belt not to take, if you know what I mean. If you don't know what I mean, I mean they got down and busy with it. What does she tell her husband when she comes back pregnant? That it was his, of course, and she just prayed the unborn babe got her coloration and not his father's. And then of course comes the part where Amadi actually comes into the world, thankfully the spitting image of his mother with his dark, dark skin and dark, piercing eyes. Isaac, his real father for all intents and purposes, declares that Amadi has his chin and his nose, and Isoba declares that his little brother could have turned out worse. And they lived happily ever after. That is, naturally, a complete and total lie. A warlord and a mercenary don't get happy endings, they only get endings. And so it was when the country erupted into civil war. The Dumisanis initially sought to stay neutral, innocently supplying weapons to both sides, but once the government's faction found out about their double dealing, they attacked the Dumisani estate. Isaac died in the attack, and so did the Dumisani neutrality. Gloria pulled every resource and every favor she could, gathering troops and supplies, inspiring those who were uncertain to join their side while Isoba became her second in command. Eight year old Amadi was kept as far from the fighting as possible, but that wasn't very far. Amadi has scars all over his body from shrapnel and skirmishes that he couldn't avoid. The worst happened a few years after his mother went missing in action, when Amadi was eleven years old and carrying an AK-47 alongside his brother and the other soldiers. They were ambushed, he was captured and...well...he got his fear of scissors from somewhere, the same place he got the diagonal scar that crosses across his abdomen and ribs. It's also the first time his powers ever truly came into play. By the time Isoba found him, he was surrounded by the bodies of soldiers. Amadi, himself, was bleeding out fast and passed out in his brother's arms. The next time Amadi woke up, he was headed the United States on an emergency flight to a hospital in Montana, where the letter Isoba had written him explained their grandparents (whom Amadi could barely remember) would meet him, and once he was released he would live with his grandparents until things stabilized in Somalia. Amadi didn't bother reading the rest of the letter, he dropped it to the ground and never picked it up again. Once the plane landed, instead of being greeted by medical staff or his grandparents, he was greeted by a giant white guy with a buzzcut and a motorcycle who gave him something Amadi would later learn was called "ambrosia." It was here that the true nature of his birth was revealed to him. Once he was done, Amadi tried to attack him with his fists, and Ares just laughed. Once Amadi demanded to go back home, though, Ares refused, and instead dropped the young veteran off at Camp Halfblood. |
