EIGHTEEN. ALEX PETTYFER. | |
[rs=2] | Full name: Popo Xavier Malatessi Position: Camper Code word: Verified by Bee. Height: 5 feet 9 inches Weight: ~140 lbs. Personality: Popo has been through at least three reinventions of personality, but who he is now is who he was destined to be (I know, deep). First and foremost, Popo is easygoing. At first glance, he’s a bit intimidating because he gives off an air of arrogance. That’s not to say he isn’t arrogant to some degree, but he isn’t overly so. He is willing to talk to anyone at any time, so that makes him a great listener. He isn’t the best at figuring out solutions to people’s problems, but he is great in the moral support category. He makes a great friend in that he’s always willing to explore and do things instead of sitting around and admiring himself in the mirror (even though he does like to do that occasionally). Second, Popo is flirtatious and charming. He doesn’t mean to be, but it certainly isn’t a bad thing. Because he is a son of Aphrodite, he does have minor love control, but he never consciously uses it. He would rather a girl like him for who he is instead of manipulating her. Popo could definitely be considered a heartbreaker, but he always tries to end things cleanly. Sometimes, however, that just isn’t possible. He might just have some upset exgirlfriends running around; so beware! Third and finally, Popo is a complete gentleman. He is polite and has great manners, but that doesn’t mean he can’t let loose. He loves to have fun and loves relaxing, but when it comes down to it he is very respectable. Most of his charm comes from his great manners and polite mannerisms as well as his good looks. Popo is happy with himself and how he looks, which adds to his slightly arrogant aura, but don’t let that stop you from talking to him! He’d be happy to converse. Immortal parent: Aphrodite Claimed?: Yes Mortal parent: Polonius Jay Malatessi Other relatives: His step-mom Alayna Kinsella. He has three older brothers, one younger brother, and an older sister. None of them are demigods and therefore not really important except to his history. History: While on his way to a book signing, Polonius Malatessi met this amazing woman in a coffee shop. She was amazingly attractive with enough charm to entrance the entire room, no questions asked. They began talking over chai lattes about books and Polonius' books in particular. The woman seemed so enthralled with how well he could write a work of fiction that she just had to know more. How did he come up with such elaborate ideas? The human mind had always fascinated her; especially the minds of those who created. The two talked and talked and, eventually, went back to Polonius' hotel that night. Alayna never found out about it, and Polonius never planned on telling her. On a rather gorgeous spring day eighteen years ago in Brooklyn, New York, a beautiful baby boy was delivered to the Malatessi abode. The man of the house and esteemed fantasy author, Polonius Malatessi, heard the doorbell ring and answered it without a second thought. When he opened up the door, he saw a newborn wrapped up in blankets despite the warmer weather and staring up at him with green eyes. The Malatessi family was never the same. Popo grew up in a large family with four older siblings and one younger sibling who came two years after him. At first, he didn’t really connect with anyone, not even his father. His older brothers ignored him a lot and called him degrading names because of the way he acted. At a young age, Popo was very prim and proper, always dressed well, and had the best manners. Of course he would trip up every now and then due to a minor influence from his brothers, but overall he was a model child. His older brothers resented him for that and tried everything in their power to get rid of him, but nothing seemed to work. All of their pranks resulted in Popo’s humiliation, which was still a reward for the ruthless brothers. After seeing that his so called “parents” did nothing about his torment, Popo began to change. Popo had started out as a quiet and reserved child, with every regard to the rules and what his parents told him to do. But as he broke into the double digits, he started to talk back more often, live by his own rules, kick butt, and take names. He was slowly becoming that stereotypical “bad boy” who defied his parents and could care less what other people thought of him. But underneath that arrogant and defiant demeanor, Popo was still his old self. He just knew that he couldn’t be that person at home, no matter how hard he tried. By this time in his life, Popo started to realize that he was different from everyone in more than the normal ways. Of course he had some inkling that he was attractive, but the way he would attract others at the age of eleven was just strange. And when the family would go to the zoo? Popo could hear thoughts… and he knew it couldn’t be from the humans. Was it the dolphins? Either way, he knew he was different and he knew he needed to leave. By some strange turn of events, Popo heard about Camp through some weird telephone of conversation, and it was only a matter of time before he brought it up with his father. Polonius was completely onboard with sending the pariah Popo as far away as possible, and Alaska was the best idea. When Popo turned thirteen, he was shipped off to Alaska with only a suitcase and pressed penny to remember Brooklyn by. Only a few weeks after Popo entered Camp, he was getting ready for a day of training when he was claimed as Aphrodite's son. A lot of things started to make sense, especially the parts about attraction, charm, and Popo's overall being. He knew that he could have been the son of any god or goddess, but to be honest he's glad he's Aphrodite's son. It was at Camp that Popo came into his true self. Instead of being such a “baddie” with a bad reputation, he decided to reinvent himself for the last time. His personality is explained above, but he is honestly one of the happiest most carefree campers you’ll see. He may give off an air of being unapproachable, but he’s always happy to talk and mingle; it’s just who he is. In terms of girlfriends, Popo has never fallen in love. He has had his share of “flirtationships”, but never anything longterm. Popo isn’t exactly the type to search for a girl himself, but he’s certainly not opposed to relationships. Overall, Popo is glad he left his old life behind and is still excited to get all he can out of his current life. |
